The under-gravel filter is an excellent tank filtration concept.
Provides biological and mechanical filtration through water circulation.
In addition, it keeps the tank substrate perfectly clean and provides plants with constant access to the necessary macro and micro elements.
Undergravel filters use the aquarium substrate as their filter media. The filter draws water from the tank, which passes through a layer of sand, active substrate or a natural mixture. During this process, both organic and inorganic impurities are sucked into the roots of plants, helping to nourish them. The substrate is constantly cleaned of any impurities such as fish waste or plant residues.
Arranging the filter like LEGO bricks:
The filter grid consists of individual elements measuring 14cm x 7cm. You can freely connect them together, thus adjusting the dimensions of the undergravel filter to your aquariums needs. After laying, you can cut off excess block connectors to obtain exact dimensions. NOTE! Individual blocks can also be connected perpendicularly to each other!
How is it powered?
A hose with an air stone is included as standard in the set. These accessories are placed in the water outlet pipe. By connecting the air pump (air pump needs to be purchased seperatly), you force the water to move.
Water outlets:
It is telescopic – you can adjust its height from 30 to 50 cm. You can freely rotate the tip by 360 degrees.
