Butyl pond liners have successfully been used to line ponds, lakes and reservoirs for the past 40+ years due to their life-long characteristics, flexibility and ability to accommodate ground movement.
Physical properties provided by Butyl pond liners
- – Flexible with high puncture resistance
- – Excellent elongation properties
- – Leak-proof qualities offering a highly effective water-tight membrane
- – UV stable and therefore can withstand longer exposure to the sun
- – Easily repairable
- – Can be readily manipulated around ground contours
The advantage to installing a box welded pond liner versus a flat sheet liner is that they eliminate folds and unsightly creases. Ponds where there are folds to the pond liner have the potential for harbouring debris. This can then lead to the growth of unwanted pathogens and as a result, adversely affect the quality of water threatening the health of fish.
When a box welded pond liner is ordered it will be prefabricated to bespoke requirements. We use either 0.75mm or 1.0mm Butyl pond liner membranes.
Box-welded liners are fabricated to fit the exact shape of a pond with an overlay lip. Flagstone or other edging material can be placed over the lip to secure the liner in place.
To assist us in providing you with the tailored-to-fit liner, we will need a drawing showing all the dimensions. Our service offers a bespoke liner cut and welded to the exact shape of your pond for a snug fit.
